AI for WhatsApp: what it is and what it can do
AI for WhatsApp means an AI agent that reads the messages people send to your WhatsApp number and replies for you, using the information you give it about your business. You link it by scanning a QR code, the same way you open WhatsApp Web.
What is AI for WhatsApp?
AI for WhatsApp is software that sits behind your WhatsApp number and answers messages with AI. You teach it your business once, in a page called My Business Info. That page is the knowledge base the AI draws on when it writes a reply.
It works on a normal WhatsApp number and on a WhatsApp Business number. You do not need the WhatsApp Business API to start.
What can you do with AI on WhatsApp?
- Answer the questions you get every day: timings, prices, how to order, where to pay.
- Capture leads by asking people your own questions, one at a time, with AI automations.
- Run a shared inbox, so you can step in on any chat and switch the AI off for that chat.
- Schedule posts in your WhatsApp groups and get a daily summary of what was said.
- Connect your own systems through a developer API and webhooks.
Who uses it?
Shop and business owners who answer the same 40 or 50 questions every week. HR and admin professionals who get repeated questions from staff. Freelancers and individuals who are tired of sending the same payment QR code again and again. Developers who want an API on top of WhatsApp.
How is it different from Meta AI?
Meta AI is Meta's general assistant inside WhatsApp. AI for WhatsApp is an agent for your own number, trained on your business, that talks to your customers on your behalf.
